INGONISH, N.S. — The Cabot Trail Writers Festival has announced some of the authors who will be participating in this year’s event.

Giller Prize-winner Ian Williams, acclaimed novelist Marina Endicott, debut Cape Breton novelist Morgan Murray, former Halifax poet laureate Rebecca Thomas, Cape Breton memoirist Marjorie Simmins, and Halifax poet and young adult writer Andre Fenton are the first six writers scheduled to take part in the 12th annual festival, Sept. 27-Oct. 4.

More participants will be announced in the coming weeks as the festival will be hosting twice as many authors as usual.

Due to COVID-19, this year’s festival will take place virtually and all programming will be offered for free. Without ticket revenues, however, the festival is facing some significant financial challenges this year, so anyone who can help is encouraged to make a donation through https://donorbox.org/cabot-trail-writers-festival-fundraising.
