SOUTHWEST LOT 16, P.E.I. — A modern band with old-timey music will return to the Island in May for another concert and workshop.
The Vaudevillian performed at the Lot 16 Hall in February, now the group is gearing up for a May 4 performance at the hall as well as an interactive washboard workshop.
For about a year the group has had more than 800 people across Canada participate in the washboard workshop. The group will provide the boards, finger-picks, and everything else for an individual to become a washboard master.
The workshop is open to all ages, no experience necessary.
Following the workshop, the Vaudevillian will take the stage with their unique blend of ragtime, country blues and jug-band stomp.
The trio of twenty-somethings will bring music from the 1920s and 1930s prohibition era to the modern world on May 4 at 7 p.m. The workshop runs from 5 to 6 p.m. prior to the performance. Workshop tickets are $25 (space is limited), performance tickets are $15. Ticket combos are available for $30 and includes a light lunch.
Advance tickets can be purchased at 902-436-1220, through Facebook by messaging the hall @lot16hall or at Seaside Books in Summerside.
The Lot 16 Community Hall is located at 38 Ferry Road in Central Lot 16.
