CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The P.E.I. Youth Chess Association is having a mini-camp on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Colonel Gray High School in Charlottetown.

The event, which will be held in the school cafeteria, is open to students from kindergarten to Grade 12 although participants should know the basic rules of chess. Pre-registration is required no later than Thursday, Oct. 17.

Students will be split into groups based on age and skill and activities will include classroom lesson, work on exercise sheets and supervised practice.

To register, email [email protected] with the student’s name, grade and rating. For students without a rating, give a short description of their chess experience.

The fee to participate is $20 per person and $10 for a second family member. Payment can be made at the camp.
