SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — A Musical Tribute to The Highwaymen is touring The Maritimes with six shows, Feb. 4-9, kicking off with a performance on Feb. 4 in Summerside at the Harbourfront Theatre.

The Highwaymen travelled the world performing country music hits to millions of fans. The American country music supergroup was composed of four of the genre's biggest artists who pioneered the outlaw country subgenre: Johnny Cash; Waylon Jennings; Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson.

Between 1985 and 1995, the group recorded three major label albums as The Highwaymen: two on Columbia Records and one for Liberty Records. Their Columbia works produced three chart singles, including the No. 1 Highwayman in 1985.

Fast forward to 2020 and watch as, backed by a five-piece band, Bob Gill, Jim Yorfida and Guy Mellanson emulate their heroes – Jennings, Cash and Nelson – with hit after hit that will keep the audience clapping, stomping their feet and singing along. One hit after another is sung and performed with precision just as if it was the original group performing.

Shows are also set for Halifax, Saint John, Moncton, Pictou and Fredericton.
