CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The next in the Summer Recital Series at the Kirk of St. James will feature violin music performed by three violinists, with support from Frances McBurnie on piano.

The recital series continues on Sunday, July 21, at 12:10 p.m. at the Kirk, 35 Fitzroy St., Charlottetown.

Works included will be by Vivaldi, Wienieski, Handel/Halvorsen and Paganini and a solo composed by Sean Kemp. Well-known for his many performances in a variety of styles, Kemp is a founding member of the Atlantic String Machine.

His students, Vincent Hung and Jesse Devries, have been active in the Charlottetown musical community for the last five years with the Singing Strings and through various Kiwanis Festival performances.

Hung plays regularly with the Prince Edward Island Symphony Orchestra, and Devries joined them for the Mahler III in April’s concert.

McBurnie is director of music at the Kirk of St. James and well-known for collaborative piano work.

There is no admission fee, but donations to the Kirk’s Choral Scholarships are appreciated.
