The hosts of the Rustico Bay Club Ceilidh, Katlyn Gallant and Lori Dempster, are excited to welcome Mike Lonergan to the stage on Saturday, Feb. 27, 8 p.m.

Lonergan, who considers himself from away, recently settled with his family in the beautiful community of North Rustico. He is a multi-talented singer/songwriter and plays a bit of everything, but for a ceilidh he focuses on Irish music as well as familiar country such as John Prine and John Denver.

As well, he likes to play some of his own music, which tends to be on the comedic side.

Back in the 1980s he played solo for a few months in Printers Alley in Nashville, and he once sang the Canadian and American national anthems a cappella at a Toronto Blue Jays game.

While he says, “that was a long time ago”, he is playing in a band next summer called Sons of Beaches.

Doors open at 7:15 p.m. Bar service is available.

Masks are mandatory and all COVID-19 restrictions will be in force.

Rustico Bay continues to offer a number of activities to the general public and seniors in particular. Subtle yoga, help with technology and auction are offered on a weekly basis. Club members have also organized a fundraising campaign to help pay overhead costs. Looking ahead, the March 13 ceilidh hosted by Keelin Wedge and Larry Campbell is sold out.
