A new production team, Fabulous Island Productions, is setting up to shoot the pilot for Darling, You Look Fabulous, a makeover show that aims to help Islanders who are badly in need of an image change so they can turn over a new leaf, make a career move, get ahead in life, find a new job or simply find that extra bit of confidence that will help them feel better about themselves.
The show will feature clients before and after their hairstyle makeover, with an aesthetic and fashion changes with the help of interns from the Private Institute of Hair Design and Aesthetics.
The production team consists of P.E.I. producer and musician David Rashed, author and artist Cindy Lapeña and celebrity hairstylist Miguel McCristall, who moved to P.E.I. from Oshawa, Ont.
The show will be shot on the Island in Salon Miguel, McCristall’s newly-opened reincarnation of his hair salons in Oshawa.
The team hopes to create a collaborative effort between helping organizations and businesses in P.E.I. by offering volunteer and training positions to Islanders who need help or who want to help.
The team seeks support as well from P.E.I. businesses that could donate products, talent and time, as well as consider helping jobless clients find gainful employment.
Darling, You Look Fabulous was conceived to complement McCristall’s biography, which is being written by Lapeña, with a target release in June 2020.
The team can be followed their Darling, You Look Fabulous Facebook page or on their website with the same name.
Volunteers and businesses who would like to collaborate in this project can contact the producers on Facebook or through their website darlingyoulookfabulous.ca.
