The next virtual concert during the Grand Ruisseau Song Festival, organized by the Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel (CDCPMC), will take place on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m.
It will feature a group formed by Marcella Richard, Patricia Richard, Caroline Bernard and Rémi Arsenault.
Marcella Richard grew up among a musical family and was surrounded by fiddles, harmonicas, mandolins, guitars and songs. This singer/songwriter currently has four recordings, with her most recent recording, Marcella Richard Sings Roy MacCaull, released in 2018. Her songs have been played on radio stations across Canada, in Louisiana and in France and have reached the No. 1 spot on charts in the Maritimes. Her voice has been described as one that goes straight to the soul and can make people laugh, dance and even cry.
Patricia Richard has performed on stages all over the world. Over the course of the years, she was a member of numerous musical groups including PANOU, Acadilac and Ode à l’Acadie. For the last few years, has been accompanying award-winning P.E.I. singer/songwriter Lennie Gallant. Recently, she teamed with Gallant to form Sirène et Matelot, and they released their debut recording in the fall of 2019. Her voice is laced with a richness and subtlety that allows her to perform various musical genres and styles. She is also blessed with a natural charisma which makes her an all-around accomplished artist on stage.
Bernard balances her love of music with her family life due to the passion and conviction she inherited from her mom who is also a known singer-songwriter from the Évangéline area. With her unique vocals and stage presence, her songs speak of love, life and everything that follows. She has been a member of numerous musical groups, including Chiquésa, Les Girls and Gadelle.
They will be accompanied on stage by Arsenault, who is a talented multi-instrumentalist.
This free show will be streamed live at Facebook.com/CDCPMC. Each week until Sept. 27, a free live show will take place on Sundays starting at 7 p.m. on Facebook. The two final shows will feature Paul D. Gallant and Adrienne Gallant (Sept. 20) and a songwriters’ circle with Jeannita Bernard, Gary Gallant, Michel Lalonde and Fayo (Sept. 27).
