Charlottetown Rural High School

Holland College’s virtual open house is Nov. 28. Connect with instructors, speak with recruiters and explore their programs, campuses, centres and services. Pre-register prior to Nov. 27 at noon to be entered into a draw for the chance to win an iPad 8th Generation and a $500 Holland College tuition credit.
To purchase a package from Heckbert Studios, place orders online at heckbertstudio.com. Paypal is a payment option as well as credit card and e-transfer. For assistance or information, text/phone Heckberts directly at 902-314-6035.
The following students have been selected to represent P.E.I. on the Canada Games woman's softball team: Kate Doyle, Lindsey Drover, Sophia Jeffrey, Neely Johnston and Zoe Stewart.
The carpentry class is looking for projects – mini barns, playhouses, she-sheds or other structures from school plans or custom designed and built from a customer’s plan. Orders are being taken for the spring of 2021. People taking part pay only for the materials. The projects are supervised by a red seal certified tradesperson. The sheds/barns are built inside a well-equipped, climate-controlled shop and can be stored until the spring and then delivered. Contractor orders are welcome, too. Contact Glen Pye at [email protected] or call 902-368-6905.

Colonel Gray High School

Today at lunch, Bishop's University will have a virtual presentation for interested students in Room 139.
Last week, a student-driven sugar-rush bake sale raised funds for wheelchair-accessible playground equipment at West Kent School.
There will be no classes for students on Nov. 27 due to a professional learning – joint staff development day.
Holland College will host its fall open house campus tour day virtual event on Nov. 28, noon to 2 p.m. The usual application fee will be waived for those who pre-register and attend virtually. Instructors, from all current programs, will be available. The format will break into four sessions, so people will be able to “visit” with more than one program that day. Pre-register by noon on Nov. 27 at www.hollandcollege.com for chances to win an I-pad, $500 tuition credit and more.
Support the Colonel Gray Music Department by purchasing a poinsettia from VanKampens. Place an order at https://www.vankampens.ca/pages/colonel-gray?_pos=1&_sid=6e920ed97&_ss=r.

The students in the academy diploma program in agriculture and bioscience will host their fifth annual Buy a Cookie, Buy a Goat Fundraiser on Nov. 25-26. Purchasing a cookie and a glass of milk helps students at KRHS’s twin school in Kenya (a program through Farmers Helping Farmers).
Nov. 27 is a joint staff day with no classes.
Anyone interested in ordering school clothing can do so at any time by going to http://kinkora.entripyshops.com/
The Borden-Carleton Fire Department is hosting its second annual food drive to benefit the South Shore Food Bank. On Dec. 19, 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., food donations can be dropped off at the donation stations at the Borden-Carleton Fire Hall and at Ceretti's Grocery.

The High School Reports feature runs in The Guardian on Mondays during the school year. All Island high schools are welcome to send in contributions. However, before doing so, either a student or staff member must contact Carolyn Drake at 902-629-6000, ext. 6036 for information on content and deadlines.
