The Lady Singers of Our Century will present two more Christmas concerts – today at Kaylee Hall, starting at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Murray Christian Centre, Kensington, starting at 7 p.m.

Hosts Joan Reeves and Judy McGregor, also known as Ding and Dong the Bell Sisters, will keep the action rolling as Jolee Patkai, Colleen MacPhee and Jacinta MacDonald perform the Christmas music of such country greats as Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Rita MacNeil, Patsy Cline, Reba MacEntire and Anne Murray.

The audience can expect to hear such songs as “Christmas Wishes”, recorded by Anne Murray and presented by Reeves and McGregor, “Go Tell it on the Mountain”, sung by Loretta Lynn and presented by Patkai, “O Holy Night” presented by MacDonald and “The Season Will Never Grow Old” sung by Rita MacNeil and presented by MacPhee. 

They will be joined by band member Dave Berrigan, Heartz Godkin, Brian Knox and Judy Lowe.

Admission is at the door which opens at 6:30 p.m.

The members of the Lady Singers of Our Century were thrilled to be invited at perform for the Anne Murray Centre in Spring Hill, N.S., this past October. Individually, the members have also enjoyed plenty of succes. Patkai, a member of Treble with Girls, was invited to sing with Carrol Baker when she presented her Christmas Shows at The Manse in Marshfield earlier this month.

MacPhee interprets MacNeil songs, and MacDonald, who was the opening act for Wayne Rostad., sings at concerts, ceilidhs and benefits. Reeves and McGregor make up a popular duo at concerts, ceilidhs and benefits. They also got a special invitation this October, to spend two days with Anne Murray at her cottage in Pugwash, N.S.
