CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Ceilidh this evening in the Katherine Hughes Memorial Hall in the Irish Cultural Centre at 582 North River Rd., will feature Tip Er Back, a P.E.I. group made up of Allan Betts, Wade Murray and Clive Currie.
There will be a 50/50 draw during the evening at the air-conditioned hall and wheelchair accessible hall. A light snack is served during the intermission. The hall is also licensed. Tip Er Back plays a mix of Maritime favourites, traditional Gaelic, country and some original music. Betts, Currie and Murray were members of Kickin’ Country, the popular dance band that played at many dance halls on P.E.I.
Betts is not only a singer and musician but also a songwriter. He has penned the And I Owe Life to You, sung by many
If the audience is really fortunate, Currie can be persuaded to do a yodelling number. He is also the fiddler for the evening.
All are welcome but due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions only 50 persons can be in the hall.
