The Learning Disabilities Association of P.E.I. is seeking nominees for the educator of the year award.
The award honours an educator who has made a significant impact upon the education of children with learning disabilities in P.E.I.
A nominee for this award is an educator who has shown exceptional dedication and support to the individual needs of students with learning disabilities on the Island, and whose endeavours have had a positive impact on student education and personal growth.
An educator may be a teacher but may equally be any other individual who has helped in the education of children, both formally and informally.
To nominate someone, complete the nomination form and provide letters of support. Additional letters of support from other individuals may strengthen the nomination.
Nomination forms may be emailed. However, a printed copy is required to accompany the full submission.
The deadline for nominations is Friday, May 1.
Nominations may be submitted by any school, community, group or individual.
The criteria for selection include dedication to supporting the success of students with learning disabilities; establishing an effective and enriched learning environment for students with learning disabilities; the promotion and integration of adaptive technology and educational accommodations in the learning environment to enhance the success of students with learning disabilities.
The award winner will receive $1,000 worth of in-store products at Staples Charlottetown to be
