Darcy Campbell is excited to be injecting a little more musical night-life into the downtown this winter.

Beginning Feb. 23, Confederation Centre will be presenting the weekly concert series, Tuesday Night LIVE!. Each night sets the spotlight on a different Island artist, offering something new and dynamic on the centre’s Mainstage.

“I think our patrons will enjoy the mix of established artists, a few rising stars of the local scene and some talent that may be new-to-you,” said Campbell, who is director of Sobeys LIVE @ the Centre.

“We’re doing this all within a safely and socially-distanced Mainstage Theatre, offering Islanders some excellent songwriters and full bands that they might not typically see on this stage.”

Concertgoers can bring a receipt from a local restaurant to the Tuesday night show – from that same day – and be entered to win a $50 restaurant gift card. Front-of-House attendants will collect signed receipts pre-show and a live draw will be conducted from the stage.

Tuesday Night Live! will kick off on Feb.23 with Island folk mainstays Fiddlers’ Sons. One week later, the centre welcomes 2020 Music P.E.I. Entertainer of the Year Cory Gallant, whose rich, soul-filled vocals have helped gain him national exposure.

The rest of March packs a punch with weekly concerts featuring Afro-fusion artist OBEMBE (March 9), Brandon Howard Roy (March 16), Alicia Toner (March 23) and Logan Richard (March 30).

Concert tickets are on sale now with a limit of 200 tickets will be sold to each performance.

“While we have been fortunate to see strong weekends for our Charlottetown restaurant community, the weekdays have continued to be a challenge,” said executive director Heidi Zinn, with Discover Charlottetown.

“Tuesday Night LIVE! is a fantastic way to encourage people to get out to have a bite mid-week, celebrate our Island’s talented musicians, and cozy up at the Mainstage – one of our city’s most treasured venues.”
