More than 50 students participated in back-to-back September weekends in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Program, completing service, skill, physical activity and adventures.
A short bus evacuation drill will be held on Oct. 16 for all students.
The AARAO Tour is in the cafeteria Oct. 17, 1–3 p.m. Students will have time to look into many Maritime universities and colleges, as well as ask questions. Parents are welcome.
The Wall of Fame Cup is Oct. 17-19. A family and community kick-off tailgate party is Oct. 17, 3:30 p.m., in the staff parking lot with food, activities, face-painting, entertainment and pep for the 5 p.m. games.
Twenty Colonel Gray students will attend the KEY Leader training camp in Thornburn, N.S., Oct. 18-20.

Charlottetown Rural Regional High School
Heckbert Studios will be at the school Oct. 9-22. To be included in the yearbook and the Class of 2020 composite photo, all potential graduates must be photographed by Heckbert Studios.

The Charlottetown Rural cross-country team competed in the Festival of Champions last weekend in Belfast, Maine, featuring Grade 10-12 athletes from 67 teams across several U.S. states, Nova Scotia and P.E.I. CRHS finished 31st with an average team time of 18:27 for 5 km. There were 1,800 participants. Every CRHS runner set a personal best time, and it was Rural's best ever finish. Kaleb Gagne (Grade 10) was Rural's top runner, finishing 86th overall and 22nd among Grade 10 runners.
Charlottetown Rural is having post-secondary day on Oct. 17, 9-11 a.m., to meet with representatives from 40-plus universities and colleges from Atlantic provinces.
UNB fall open house is Oct. 19, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students are asked to request their official transcript in student services no later than Oct. 17.
Kinkora Regional High School
Today is Career Day for Grade 11 and 12 students.

The annual Blazer Beef Supper is at Kinkora Place, Oct. 26, 4-6 p.m. ($15 for adults and $8 for children under 12). Take-outs will be available.
On Oct. 17, the Grade 11 and 12 ADP students will travel to the Dalhousie Agriculture Campus High School Induction Day in Truro, N.S., to tour the campus and explore the programs. On the way home, they will tour the new butchery and creamery at Masstown Market.
Abi Hamilton and Hannah Rogers will represent the school at this year’s annual Rotary Youth Parliament, a learning experience where students participate in parliamentary procedures used by the provincial government.
Grade 12 student Elizabeth Phillips will represent KRHS as a page for the 2019/2020 session of the P.E.I. legislative assembly.
All selections for the annual KRHS Hockey Pool must be in by Oct. 18 ($20 per entry or $30 for two entries).
KRHS was one of the planting locations for the Maritime Electric 2019 Trees for Life Program. On Oct. 7-8, over 150 trees were planted around the property.
Montague Regional High School
Student council’s annual Haunted Halls event is Oct. 29, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Admission will be $5 for adults and $2 for children under 14. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Montague Food Bank.
Luke Smith, Damien Collins and Berry Genge will represent the school at Rotary Youth Parliament, Oct. 18.
Picture proof orders are due to homeroom teachers Oct. 16. Alternately, parents are encouraged to order online with credit card payment.
Oct. 16 is College and University Day, where representatives from post-secondary schools visit MRHS to provide information to students.
SAS interim reports will be sent home with students on Oct. 17.
Morell Regional High School
The annual student council fundraiser is underway, and parents and community members are encouraged to lend their support. The money raised is invested back into the school to offer extra activities and events for the students over the course of the school year.
The Atlantic Association of Registrars and Admissions Officers will be visiting on Oct. 16, an excellent opportunity for students to meet with representatives from various Atlantic universities and colleges.
Westisle Composite High School
A huge box is in the lobby of WCHS, and the goal is to fill it with new socks or gently used winter clothing by the end of October. This month-long donation event is called “Socktober”, and all proceeds will be going to a homeless shelter/those in need for the cold upcoming months.
Heckbert’s will be back Oct. 22 to take grad photo orders. All money will be paid directly to Heckbert’s. They will return to the school sometime in December with the orders.
Following feedback on the graduation time, it has been decided that graduation will be June 23, 4 p.m. Safe Grad activities will be 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Social Development and Housing Minister Ernie Hudson recently donated to the school breakfast program. Money was raised from his District 26 barbecue.
Student volunteers are still for the Christmas Market, Nov. 2-3. These hours will count towards bursary hours and look great on a resume. Contact Mrs. Morgan.
