Four businesses seeking top prize from Francophone Ignition Contest

Some of the best and brightest of P.E.I.’s francophone business community are set to pitch their visions to a panel of their peers for a chance at winning $25,000.

The 2021 Francophone Ignition Contest, organized by the Réseau de développement économique et d'employabilité, with support from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, will hold its grand finale on March 3.

Four finalist businesses will present their concept to a panel of judges and one will be selected for the sizable grant, a free college course from the Collège de l'Île and a free one-year memberships to three of the largest chambers of commerce on the Island.

The four businesses under consideration for the top prize include Paul D. Gallant and his dinner-theater project, Donald Richard and Jake Charron and their mobile sound recording studio, sisters Samantha Arsenault and Natalie Gallant and their Acadian clothing business, and Jacinthe Lemire will be seeking to expand the market for her online store.

While the judges deliberate after the four pitches, a snack will be served to the crowd. A cash bar service will be provided. Admission will be free but those who want to attend must register no later than Feb. 26 by contacting Josée Ouellette at 902-854-3439, ext. 228, or [email protected].

The event is being held at the Acadian Musical Village in Abram-Village on Wednesday, March 3 at 7 p.m.
