A Summerside business has teamed up with the College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts of Canada to give away one course admission to one lucky person.

Summerside Toyota has partnered with the College of Piping to offer a scholarship to one resident of Summerside who would like to try one of the courses they have to offer. The scholarship is open to new students or someone who is currently enrolled at the college.

“At Summerside Toyota we are pleased to partner with the College of Piping to provide a scholarship to a passionate supporter of the arts and provide them access to the quality programming that the College has to offer,” said Craig Passmore, general manager of Summerside Toyota.

To apply, send a paragraph to info@collegeofpiping.com to tell them why arts and culture are important to you before Oct. 21.

The winner of the one-year scholarship will be chosen by a jury. Once awarded, the winner may choose from Great Highland Bagpipe, Pipe Band Drumming, Fiddle, Intro to Dance, Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Highland Dance, Step Dance, Art, Acting, Musical Theatre and Improv programs.

“The College of Piping is very happy to have the support of Summerside Toyota, they are such wonderful supporters of the community and help contribute to the thriving arts and culture scene in Summerside and on P.E.I.,” said Jennifer Campbell, executive director of the College of Piping.
