The perspectives of the Black and African communities will be the focus of a Community Needs Town Hall with the Black Cultural Society of P.E.I. (BCSPEI) on Friday.
BCSPEI is currently working through an intensive strategic planning process to determine how it can best serve the Island’s Black communities.
Part of this process was the creation and dissemination of a community needs assessment survey, which was launched online last week. To complement this, BCSPEI has organized a town hall to hear from and further the conversation with the Island’s Black community.
The town hall will provide a space for BCSPEI to facilitate an open discussion with attendees to brainstorm in some key areas that were highlighted by participants in the Community Needs Assessment Survey, including community engagement, financial barriers, business/entrepreneurship and mental health.
The town hall will also be an opportunity to update the community on what BCSPEI has been up to over the last year.
It will be held Nov. 27, 7-9 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre at Confederation Centre of the Arts.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, residents will need to pre-register for this event by visiting the Confederation Centre box office in person or by calling 902-566-1267. For more information about the event, contact BCSPEI at [email protected].
