Amazon Prime series The Future Code is in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador this week, for a special Future of Oceans episode.

Produced by Concord, Ont.-based Re:Source Media Inc., The Future Code takes a look at the creative people and companies which are changing the way we live and do business, “rewriting the future” by revolutionizing industry and evolving the workplace.

The Future Code: Future of Oceans will feature Canada’s Ocean Supercluster, a private sector-led partnership based in Atlantic Canada that brings together leaders in areas like the fishery, defense, shipping, bioresources and ocean technology to develop collaborative projects that solve the problems faced by these industries and disciplines while generating sustainable ocean growth.

“This is an incredible opportunity to put the international spotlight on Canada’s ocean innovation and profile the work of a number of Ocean Supercluster project teams who are doing amazing things,” said the partnership’s CEO Kendra MacDonald in announcing the start of production on the Future of Oceans episode.

The show will take a look at projects fostered by Canada’s Ocean Supercluster, involving partners from many different ocean sectors, many brought together for the first time to generate new investment and economic growth by developing and commercializing ocean solutions. Other participants in the episode include underwater technology company Kraken Robotics and Christopher Googoo from Millbrook First Nation-based Ulnooweg Development Group, which nurtures Indigenous businesses and entrepreneurs.

“This series focuses on the evolution of industries and how we do business, and the innovators and changemakers around the globe that are leading the way,” said Re:Source Media head Kevin Fox.

“With the world’s oceans under significant pressures while at the same time holding so much potential, the future of oceans and the approach Canada’s Ocean Supercluster is taking to solve ocean challenges and drive sustainable ocean growth is a story worth telling.”

The Future Code: Future of Oceans episode will be available to view exclusively on Amazon Prime later this fall in the U.S. and the U.K. as well as Canada, for millions of subscribers on both sides of the Atlantic.
