There are no classes on Nov. 14-15, as it is the annual PEITF convention.
A moving Remembrance Day ceremony was held last week at the school, with many veterans in attendance. The dedication of students to their respective roles was evident in the touching performance.
Art after Dark fundraiser will be happening on Nov. 28, 6-8 p.m.
Morell Regional High School
Students marked Remembrance Day at the school this past week with a great deal of appreciation extended to those students and teachers who were instrumental in putting together another excellent assembly to commemorate the valour and sacrifice of veterans. It is wonderful to see such appreciation and recognition on behalf of young people.
Parent/teacher Interviews were held last week. Report cards will be passed out to the students whose parents/guardians were not able to attend. Should there be any questions, parents are encouraged to contact the school and speak with the teachers directly.

Kinkora Regional High School
There is no school on Nov. 14-15 due to the annual PEITF convention
The school appreciates the efforts of the staff, students, parents, grandparents and community members who volunteered at the annual Blazer Beef Supper on Oct. 26 where 400 meals were sold. The winner of the 50/50 was Karen Duffy, who donated the money back to the school.
Grad photos will take place on Nov. 15 at Heckbert’s Photography in Summerside.
Five KRHS students competed in the P.E.I. Envirothon on Oct. 25-26 at Camp Keir. The Blazer team included Victoria Arsenault, Victoria Corney, Maggie Gaudet, Ryley MacWilliams and Maëli Denoual.
The KRHS student council appreciates the efforts of all students who sold pies. In total, 2,543 pies were sold.
Charlottetown Rural high School
The 2019 yearbooks have arrived. Drop by the main office to pick up a copy. There is a limited number left for those who didn't pre-order a copy for $50.
Colonel Gray High School
Students exiting from the student parking lot will notice new signage indicating right turn only. Left turns from the parking lot, taking students or parents past the front of the school and waiting buses, will no longer be permitted during school hours.
Parents are welcome toa Grade 12 information and post-secondary night today at 7 p.m. in the lecture theatre. Counsellors will present Plug in – Check In – Begin until 7:30 p.m., then advisers from UPEI and Holland College will provide an overview of each institution until 8 p.m. Parents will be able to choose (from a selection) their preference of three break-out sessions of 15 minutes each.

The 2019 Colonel Gray Music Department Craft Fair is Nov. 15 (5:30-9 p.m.) and Nov. 16 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Admission is $3.
Mid-semester report cards go home with students on Nov. 20. Keep these in a safe place and do not discard them. In the future, report cards may be required for attendance verification, immigration documentation or unofficial marks for university applications or when applying for scholarships and bursaries.
A parent education information and panel discussion, “My child’s social journey through high school”, is Nov. 21, 6:30 p.m., in the cafeteria. Panelists will include youth workers, property manager from Spring Park Road, a Crown attorney, the Public Schools Branch director and city police.
Westisle Composite High school
There is no school Nov. 14-15 because of the annual PEITF convention.
All are reminded that the school’s cell phone policy that does not allow students to use their cell phone during class time. There are consequences, ranging from losing it for the remainder of class to keeping it in the school vault for one, three or five days. Anyone who has to contact their child during class time should call the main office at 902-853-8626 and the message will be given to the child.
It was the second year for the extremely popular Westisle Christmas Market. There were many vendors that spanned throughout the school and there were well over 2,200 customers that came through the doors. Valene Gallant, Claudia Sweet and Brittanie Cooke organized this event.
The High School Reports feature runs in The Guardian on Mondays during the school year. All Island high schools are welcome to send in contributions.
