BONSHAW, P.E.I. —

The monthly ceilidh concert at the Bonshaw Hall on Sunday, March 31, will feature The Fair Deal Exchange.

Influenced by country, bluegrass, folk, traditional and modern Irish, Scottish, English and Acadian folk songs, the Fair Deal Exchange is a group of friends – and now neighbours – who loves to play music together.

The group consists of Peter Webb on banjo, fiddle and guitar (formerly with the Grass Mountain Hobos and now also sings in public), Katriona MacNeil on accordion and vocals, David Pendergast on guitar and vocals and Thomas Kirkham (formerly with the Grass Mountain Hobos) playing the mandolin and singing.

Other performers at the ceilidh, which runs 2-4 p.m. and is suitable for all ages, will include the Willis Family Trio (singer-songwriter Jolene with Petra and Grant), a fiddle ensemble of Karen Graves (Atlantic String Machine) with Nathan Simmonds and Keziah & Twilah Dawn Stoltz; step dancer Eithne Brydon; and singer Joanne Gass; plus local musicians Tony the Troubador, Herb MacDonald, and Phil Pineau.

There will also be a 50/50 draw, homemade cookies with tea and open mic time.

Admission is by donation, with proceeds going to P.E.I. Chapter of Parkinson Canada.

The Bonshaw Hall is accessible for small wheelchairs and is located at 17655 Trans-Canada Highway, at the corner of the Green Road by the Bonshaw Bridge.

Anyone wanting more information should phone 902-675-4093 or check the Facebook page. Everyone is welcome. If a storm causes postponement, notice of that will go on the Facebook event page by 11 a.m., and the ceilidh will be postponed one week to April 7.
