Welcome to all KRHS students, especially our new Gr. 9 students. We have 150 students plus 14 teachers, three educational assistants, two youth service workers, one workplace assistant, three support staff, and seven bus drivers.

School Dance ~ The first school dance will take place on Thursday, Oct. 18 from 8-11 p.m.

ANNUAL KRHS TERRY FOX RUN
Our 38th Annual KRHS Terry Fox Run will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 19 with all funds raised going to cancer research. We thank Kevin Stewart & the Student Council for their tremendous efforts in organizing this event. Students & staff will walk on the Confederation Trail. Last year we raised over $870.
PEER HELPING TRAINING DAY
On Sept. 20, KRHS Peer Helpers will attend Provincial Peer Helping training at Credit Union Place with various other Island high schools. Many thanks to Peer Helping teacher Lesley Cousins.
VICTORY IN EUROPE TOUR
There is still time and space available for students to sign up for this trip of a lifetime. This trip commemorates the 75th anniversary since the end of World War II in Europe as well as important stops from World War I. KRHS, KISH, and TOSH will be visiting three countries: France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. The cost is just under $3,700 and there will be some fundraising opportunities prior to the trip. Any students with an interest in studying the environment and representing KRHS in an environmental competition are asked to speak to Mr. Bustard.
ACADEMY DIPLOMA PROGRAM IN AGRICULTURE & BIOSCIENCE
Jessica Reeves is in charge of the Academy Diploma Program in Agriculture & Bioscience here at KRHS.
Welcome back, Aggies!
The Grade 10 members of the ADP in Agriculture & Bioscience will be participating in the Eastern P.E.I. Tour and their Animal Safe Handling course from Thursday, Sept. 20 to Friday, Sept. 21.

Sept. 24 - Drive Away Hunger begins - This year the Aggies will once again spearhead the Farm Credit Canada Drive Away Hunger Food Drive with the generous support of all KRHS students and staff. This year we will be working with the South Shore Food Share which is a new food bank located in Crapaud and is serving our community.
Sept. 27 - the Gr. 11 & 12 ADP students will be traveling to the Dalhousie University Agriculture Campus High School Induction Day in Truro, N.S. Students will tour the campus and explore the many programs of studies. They will also participate in a plant science and an animal science hands-on lab in the afternoon.
2019 GRAD NEWS
The Grad Executive members are responsible for planning & organizing all grad activities throughout the year. Meetings most often take place at lunch once a month. Any grads interested in being on the 2018 Grad Executive, please see Mrs. Cole.
KRHS LIBRARY NEWS
Be sure to check out our reading room for some great fiction. The KRHS Library is open during all four classes every day plus at noon, in the mornings and at breaks as well as after school. Shelley Tremere is the Teacher-Librarian here at KRHS.
KRHS BREAKFAST & SNACK PROGRAM
Rodney MacFadyen, our Youth Service Worker, is busy every morning supervising and preparing for our breakfast/snack program which is offered free for all students daily. There are toast and/or bagels and fresh fruit available every morning from 8:15-8:30 a.m.
