Special P.E.I. event to mark Commonwealth Day

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. —

The Royal Commonwealth Society of P.E.I. will be holding its annual observance of Commonwealth Day on Monday, March 11, at the Kirk of St. James, 35 Fitzroy St., Charlottetown, beginning at 7 p.m.

The theme this year is "A Connected Commonwealth".

The evening features the reading of the Queen's message by P.E.I. Lt.-Gov. Antoinette Perry.

Special music will be provided by the P.E.I. Regiment Band, under the direction of Lt. Rory O'Donnell.

Special guest Ray Murphy will read the names of the Commonwealth countries as the flags are presented by sea, navy, air and army cadets.

All are welcome to share in this celebration. There will be a freewill offering, and a light lunch will be served.
