Writers living in the Maritime provinces are eligible to apply for a scholarship (trevorcorkum.com/scholarship) to attend a week-long summer writing retreat on the south shore of P.E.I.
The scholarship, valued at $750, will offset the costs of workshops, programming and optional activities for one writer from P.E.I., New Brunswick or Nova Scotia.
Interest in the scholarship has been strong, and a number of strong applications have already been submitted.
The scholarship is open to writers of all ages currently living in the Maritime provinces.
Emerging writers, and writers who identify as LGBTQ, Indigenous, disabled or as writers or colour, are particularly encouraged to apply.
Deadline for applications is April 15, and details can be found on the One Life Writing website.
Write by the Sea is an intimate five-day writing retreat which will run June 23-28 in Victoria-by-the-Sea.
The retreat will feature daily writing workshops, solo writing time, an evening cabaret and optional wellness and yoga workshops lead by instructor Joshua Lewis.
