An Island historical committee is launching a history quiz that revolves around several aspects of the French/Acadian presence in P.E.I.
On Feb. 6, the Sister Antoinette DesRoches Historical Committee will release a game-like questionnaire that includes 10 questions with multiple choice answers.
The objective is to foster awareness on the history and cultural heritage of Acadians.
The quiz will be published in “La Voix acadienne” (P.E.I.’s French-language weekly) on Feb. 6 and will also be available by e-mail and on Facebook in French and English.
The answers to the questions will be given one per day on weekdays beginning on Feb. 18, Heritage Day. They will also be released on Radio-Canada, through email and on Facebook as well as in “La Voix acadienne.”
Five prizes will be selected among quiz participants.
The committee is inviting teachers to conduct the quiz with their students. The winning class will receive $200 — $100 in cash and $100 in gift certificates for the gift shop at the Acadian Museum.
To be eligible to win, entries must be submitted to the committee by Feb. 15.
The contest is open to all Islanders, including those living out of province.
