Fresh food should be enjoyed again and again and again. So, with that said, Fall Flavours organizers are inviting Islanders to a new edition of the food festival, “Multiple Organics” which aims to showcase some of the Island’s organic farmers by creating a market-style set up in the rustic Cowshed at Green Island Getaways.
Chef Scott Carr has created a delectable three-course menu including free-range pork and chicken from Hope River Farm, vegetables from A-OK Gardens, Alexander Fresh Vegetables, and Emmerdale Eden Farms as well as bread and freshly baked treats from Splendid.
“Both of our companies believe wholeheartedly in sustainable food practices and support the eat local movement. We decided to create this event as a way to help food lovers connect face to face with the farmers who contributed to the meal on their plate,” says Bill Kendrick of Experience P.E.I.
Guests are encouraged to connect with the farmers, learn about their farming practices as well as select the vegetables they want to be included in their evening meal. They are also invited to roam the grounds, walk the forested trails or relax on the outdoor patio.
Multiple Organics is set for Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. at Green Island Getaways, 1132 Rattenbury Road, Breadalbane.
