HIGH SCHOOL REPORTS: Arts shows, dances, fundraising, improv planned for this month

Montague Regional High School

Artisans on Main Christmas opening hours for the gallery are Dec. 4-15, and for the second year students will have work hung and presented. All ages are urged to support the students by popping in to check their works of art and even spending a little on their pieces to take home. All money raised goes to the student

Alana Trainor has received the Physical Education Teaching Excellence Award from the P.E.I. Physical Education Association.

Christmas dance tickets are on sale until the dance on Dec. 7.

Colonel Gray High School

All transcript requests, to date, for mid-term marks going to the universities/colleges have been processed.

Life Touch graduation photos are being taken until Dec. 7 in the school library. All students must be photographed to be included on the large wall composite.

The Christmas semi-formal dance is Dec. 13.

The band Christmas concert is Dec. 12, 7 p.m., at the school.

Due to the storm, the Mount Allison University visit has been rescheduled to lunchtime on Dec. 18.

Charlottetown Rural High School

The Winter Formal Dance is Dec. 4, 6-9:30 p.m. Doors will close at 6:30 p.m. The price is $7 per student, and tickets can be purchased at student services. There will be no tickets sold at the door.

The Rudolph Campaign begins this week with homerooms invited to help out by providing for a family in need during the Christmas season.

The 2018 yearbooks have arrived. Pre-ordered yearbooks can be picked up at the office. There are a limited number of books for sale through the office for $50.

Anyone interested in purchasing a 2019 yearbook can do so online through the school’s website. For information, contact Rosanne MacLeod.

On Dec. 13, the CRHS Improv Team presents "Improv-a-roni!", a night of improvisational performance and comedy. The show starts at 7 p.m. on the school's stage. Tickets are $5 dollars, and everyone is welcome to attend.

Kinkora Regional High School

The Christmas party for the KRHS grads of 2019 will be held on Dec. 11. Grads will meet at KRHS, 4:30-6:30 p.m., for a potluck and gift exchange.

The Victory in Europe Tour 2020 trip commemorates the 75th anniversary since the end of the Second World War in Europe as well as important stops from the First World War. Students will be visiting three countries: France, Belgium and the Netherlands from April 28 to May 7, 2020. During December, students are selling tickets on a Christmas House Tour (Dec. 14) as well as a gift card tree (winners will be drawn Dec. 14). For information, contact Kevin Bustard.

Looking ahead, the annual Christmas concert featuring the KRHS concert band in Dec. 18.
