HIGH SCHOOL REPORT: Students resume classes after the holidays

 Charlottetown Rural High School

Members of the E.Y.E.S. Committee recently completed a 24-hour food fast, which acted a fundraiser for the local food bank as well an awareness event concerning food security in Canada.

Students Katie Liu and Lucy Li were awarded a Rising Youth grant and used the funds to provide some new recreational materials for seniors at Beach Grove Home as well as some personal care gift bags for residents.

Colonel Gray High School

Mount Allison University will be visiting the school today at lunch time. They will be waiving the application fee.

Parents can follow their son/daughter’s daily attendance and test results online. To receive a SAS password and sign up with your email, contact the Main Office.

First semester final exams are Jan. 24-30, beginning with the Grade 11 math assessment.

Kinkora Regional High School

A warm Blazer welcome is extended to the new educational assistant, Lydia Pickering. She started at KRHS last month.

On Dec. 21, the Culinary students helped prepare the annual Christmas Turkey Dinner (no charge). Appreciation is expressed to Jessica Reeves and her Culinary 801 class.

Students in the Academy Diploma program in Agriculture and Bioscience hosted their third annual Buy a Cookie, Buy a Goat fundraiser. By purchasing a cookie and a glass of milk participants were helping students at KRHS’ twin school in Kenya. They raised $150. The program runs through Farmers Helping Farmers.

The next grad activity is afterschool on Jan. 9.

Final exams run from Jan. 24-30.

The 57th annual commencement exercises of Kinkora Regional High School is set for Thursday, June 20 at 7 p.m.
