A national fundraising effort to support WE Charity – a family of organizations that makes doing good, doable

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. - Movie buffs across P.E.I. are in for a treat as Cineplex rolls up its curtains for Community Day and offers one morning of free films, all in support of a worthy cause.

For the eighth consecutive year, all proceeds from donations to see popular movies and select concession sales will go to the company’s national charitable partner, WE Charity.

WE Charity aims to stomp out poverty, educate and empower youth around the world.

Popular films to watch include Sherlock Gnomes, Daddy’s Home 2, Transformers: The Last Knight, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, and Book Club.

Concession items such as popcorn, soft drinks and select candy will be on sale for $2.50 each and, in exchange for a $2.50 donation to WE Charity, all participating theatres will sell a variety of movie-themed merchandise and more.

Cineplex theatres across the Island will open their doors to the public at 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 27.

Tickets will be served on a first-come basis, with movies kicking off at 9:30 a.m.

All locations will return to their regular schedule by the afternoon.
