The application deadline is quickly approaching for the more than 25 scholarships and community granting funds available through the Community Foundation of Prince Edward Island (CFPEI). This year, the foundation will be awarding more than $300,000 to Island students and organizations.
Scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000 are open to students graduating from Island high schools this year as well as some for students already studying at a post-secondary institution.
Grants addressing a wide range of causes from mental health to Island arts and culture are available to P.E.I.-based, non-profit organizations with registered charitable status.
A description of all grants and scholarships as well as application forms can be found on the foundation’s website at www.cfpei.ca. Applications can be submitted online, by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or in person at 119 Queen Street by 4 p.m. on May 31.
Now in its 25th year, CFPEI distributes funds to all corners of the community in arts and culture, education, health, social services and the environment. In 2017, more than $500,000 was awarded to students and organizations through the Community Foundation.
