CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - The Cat Action Team (CAT) is looking to expand its network of volunteers across P.E.I.

CAT is holding an information session at 2 p.m. on Oct. 14 at the P.E.I. Humane Society Conference Facility at 309 Sherwood Rd. in Charlottetown.

The Cat Action Team is a volunteer-run, registered charity offering a trap-neuter-release program to members of the public who are caring for outdoor, stray, feral and barn cats on Prince Edward Island.

Since its incorporation in 2001, CAT has spayed and neutered over 12,500 cats, placed over 100 wooden shelters in feral cat colonies, provided cat food when necessary and responded to innumerable concerns related to feral, stray and barn cats from communities across the province.

CAT encourages anyone interested in helping with fundraising, shelter building, trapping and transporting of cats, assisting at neuter days or willing to sit on the board, to attend one of these sessions.

CAT works closely with other animal welfare groups on P.E.I., notably Keeping Cats Homed, the P.E.I. Humane Society and SpayAid P.E.I. Representatives from these organizations have been invited to attend these sessions to answer any questions.
