The fourth animal to be profiled in the 2018 edition of the 12 Strays of Christmas is Copper.

Copper is a high energy six-month-old fox hound.

Like most hound breeds, he loves to follow a scent, so a great leash and harness are a must.

Copper would most benefit from excellent positive training to help and understand boundaries that keep his busy mind occupied.

Copper would love an active home with another well trained dog he could learn from.

Adoption Tip #4: A great form of enrichment for dogs who love to sniff is Nose Work. Start with something she loves, like a favourite treat or toy. You can start hiding in a simple cardboard box among other boxes. After finding her special treat, you can continue to increase the challenge at her own pace. Keep the sessions short and fun.

The 12 Strays of Christmas is a joint project between The Guardian and the P.E.I. Humane Society.
