CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - The Tourism Industry Association of P.E.I. (TIAPEI) is hosting the 2018 Tourism Excellence Awards Gala on Oct. 24.

That will be followed by TIAPEI’s conference the next day.

The theme of this year’s conference is sustainable tourism. It will feature presentations from Parks Canada, various committee reports and more.

Charlottetown is also one of the stops on this year’s Tourism Industry Association of Canada’s (TIAC) Tourism Town Hall. A session will start the day on Oct. 25 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Rodd Charlottetown.

Jill Doucette, founder of Synergy Enterprises, will be the keynote speaker with a presentation on “Sustainability: Your Business and the Changing Environment”.

Doucette has authored three books on sustainable business practices.

Dee Enright, owner of Charlotte’s Rose Inn in Charlottetown, will also address the audience by sharing her dedication for sustainable operations, which is fueled by her past work with wilderness operators, sports events and global travel to fragile eco systems.

Online registration for the TIAC Town Hall session, the awards gala and the conference can be done at tiapei.pe.ca or by contacting the TIAPEI office at 902-566-5008.
