After more than two decades owning Charlottetown's Abegweit Animal Hospital, Dr. David Condon and Lisa Purcell have sold the business.

"I am very confident that under their new ownership, Abegweit Animal Hospital will continue to provide the same excellent service to our valued clients," said Condon, also a veterinarian, in a press release this week. The acquisition was brokered by Confederation M&A.

Condon and Purcell sold the business to two local veterinarians - Dr. Mila Profit and Dr. Caitlin Matter.

The small animal veterinary clinic has been located on McAulay Court since 1998. It was previously located on St. Peter's Road and Kensington Road in Charlottetown.

Condon and Purcell purchased the animal hospital in 1993, according to the business's website. They are staying on to support the new owners with the transition.
