WELLINGTON, P.E.I. — A lunch-and-learn seminar titled “Employment Standards and You” will be held for all employers and employees in the area.
The event will take place Feb. 5, from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at the Wellington Rural Action Centre at 48 Mill Road.
Robert Yeo, P.E.I. Chief Labour Standards Officer, will present to provide an overview of the Employment Standards Act including topics such as wages, hours of work, overtime, vacation pay, statutory holidays, special leaves, termination notices and youth employment rules.
The seminar is meant to help others better understand the rights and obligations of both employers and employees that are covered by the provincial Employment Standards Act.
The Wellington Rural Action Centre and the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of P.E.I. are jointly offering the session, where a light lunch will be provided. The registration fee is five dollars for Chamber members and $10 for non-members.
