CAVENDISH, P.E.I. — This summer, drivers will be able to gas up at a new Mel’s Petro-Canada being built on the site of former Petro-Canada gas station at the intersection of Route 13 and Cavendish Road, Route 6.
Jeff Doucette, general manager at Kenmac Energy, said construction began in November.
Doucette explained it was time for an upgrade at the location, which has been good for business the past couple of years.
“It is a very seasonal location, obviously. But over the past few years, we’ve seen a lot of new things happening in Cavendish – with the country music festival, and there seems to be a lot more happening with new investment and new business. So, we thought it was a good spot that made sense for us to take that old property and make it new again.”
The anticipated opening for the new Mel’s is June 1.
