Holland College’s occupational health and safety technology program is now available online, giving more students the opportunity to attain their educational goals.
The one-year program gives students the essential skills and knowledge needed to promote and maintain the health and safety of employees in an organization. Students learn the roles and responsibilities of an occupational health and safety practitioner, including risk management, hazard recognition control and prevention, and safety management systems in the workplace.
They also learn about occupational health and safety legislation and how to apply best practices.
Program manager Michele Oliver anticipates that there will be increased interested in the program now that students can study in their own homes.
Holland College offers several programs that are offered online or have a large online component, including the administrative assistant, computer information systems and advance care paramedicine distributed learning programs.
