CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - As the Nov. 5 municipal election day gets closer, the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) wants municipal candidates thinking about small businesses.
CFIB director for P.E.I. Erin McGrath-Gaudet said that for anyone thinking about the prosperity of their community they need to think about small businesses.
“Small businesses form the backbone of local communities,” she said.
The CFIB has published what it calls a small business guide for municipal platforms and the organization has listed the gap between residential and commercial property taxes as a priority.
McGrath-Gaudet said municipal red tape is another consideration this election.
