Atlantic Beef Products and its partner beef producers are making a number of holiday donations of 150 kilograms of beef to P.E.I. Food Banks.
There will be three regional donations, one each to food banks in Charlottetown, Kings County and Prince County, including the food banks in Summerside and West Prince.
"This donation of high quality beef in this holiday season to help meet our needs is much appreciated,” said Mike Macdonald of the Upper Room Hospitality Ministry in Charlottetown. “P.E.I. Food Banks are very thankful to Atlantic Beef Products for these contributions to the well being of Islanders.”
Russ Mallard, President of Atlantic Beef Products said, “Atlantic Beef Products plant plays an integral part in the agricultural industry in P.E.I. and the Maritimes. We are pleased more and more consumers and chefs recognize this and ask for our beef at their local retailers and food service operations. This increased demand for our beef has led to success for our plant and we are pleased to share in that success.”
Atlantic Beef Products Inc. is located in Albany, employs 120 Islanders and provides beef products from cattle raised in pasture on small family farms. ABP supplies grocery retailers, food service distributors and independent butchers throughout Canada.
