SUMMERSIDE – The Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals are headed to West Prince for a regular-season game.
The Caps issued a media release early Monday evening announcing the team’s game against the Truro Bearcats on Saturday, Feb. 24, will be played at the Tignish Credit Union Arena. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m.
Second-year Caps forward TJ Shea, who is from Anglo/Tignish, leads the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) with 59 points – 25 goals and 34 assists – in 27 regular-season games. Shea is also on a current 21-game point streak.
Shea, notes the media release, is looking forward to playing in his hometown, and expects a packed house.

Tickets
Tickets go on sale Wednesday, Dec. 20, at the Tignish Co-op Gas Bar, Tignish Credit Union Arena and the Caps’ office from 4 to 7 p.m. Tickets will be also be available at all Caps’ home games leading up to Feb. 24.
All ticket prices for the Tignish game are $10, taxes included, and it is general admission.
Season-ticket holders have until Monday, Feb. 18, to pick up their ticket to the game, or they will be available for sale. Flex tickets cannot be redeemed, and skybox holders have to purchase tickets for this game.
There will be some announcements in early 2018 regarding bus transportation availability. Any questions can be emailed to [email protected].

Record
The Caps have entered the Christmas break at 15-11-1-0 (won-lost-overtime losses-shootout losses). That is good enough for fourth place in the Eastlink North Division, but the Caps are only one point back of both the Miramichi Timberwolves (14-10-2-2) and Campbellton Tigers (15-11-2-0).
The Caps return to action on Dec. 30, when the Tigers visit Eastlink Arena for a 7 p.m. start.
