CHARLOTTETOWN – A red-hot Three Truths will face off against seasoned company in the Thursday night feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
First-race post time for the 11-dash card is 6:30 p.m., with a power-packed field of seven going in the featured pace for a $2,350 purse in Race 10.
Three Truths rides a three-race winning streak into the event, and has drawn Post 5 for driver Kenny Arsenault, trainer Paul Doyle and owners Jason Rice of Kensington and Darren Doyle of York.
The five-year-old son of Shadow Play defeated the same Preferred 2 class in his latest start while taking a new lifetime mark of 1:55.1. Three Truths defeated three of the horses racing against him this week, but will also have to contend with a pair of class droppers and a front-end specialist with an improved post.
Perfect Escape (driven by Gilles Barrieau) jumps up in class and drew Post 1 for this race, and proves deadly when he acquires the front end. The outside duo of Winter Blast (Jason Hughes) and Red Magician (Adam Merner) drop out of the Preferred 1 class to try and cut Three Truths’ winning streak short. Also in the field is Rockin Indy (David Dowling), Elm Grove Kaboom (Marc Campbell) and Tobinator (Corey MacPherson).

Open trot
The $1,950 open trot lines up in Race 8 of the program. Majian Tango is the favourite from Post 6 for trainer-driver Jim Ripley and owner Marylea Ripley of Amherst, N.S. His stablemate, Majian Chester (Ken Murphy), is installed at 7-2 odds from the rail. Dusty Lane Jacob (MacPherson) was an impressive winner last week, and gets Post 2. Sophomore stakes’ trotter Buckaroo will leave from Post 7 as he faces off with aged company for trainer-driver Campbell.
