BATHURST, N.B. – The Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild just missed a perfect weekend
The Wild earned three of a possible four points, and was just eight seconds away from sweeping the two road contests.
After pulling out a 2-1 shootout victory against the Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Pride on Friday night, the Wild dropped a 5-4 overtime decision to the Northern Moose on Sunday afternoon.
The Wild, who is 6-2-1 (won-lost-overtime losses), returns to action on Saturday, when the Pride visits Community Gardens for a 7:30 p.m. start. Charlottetown took a 3-4-1 mark into Sunday afternoon’s home game against the Moncton Flyers (6-2-1).

Winning goal
At the K.C. Irving Regional Centre, Mathieu Blanchard’s goal one minute into the extra period proved to be the difference. Zack Manuel and Sebastien Hebert, who netted the tying goal with eight seconds remaining, each scored twice for Northern.
Thomas Rennie, Frank Fortin, Isaac Callaghan and Chase Gaudette scored for the Wild. Bradley Campbell, Colby MacArthur, Ryan Richards, Marc Richard and Ethan Beaulieu set up the markers.
The Moose led 2-0 after the first period, but two Wild goals in the final three minutes of the third period sent the teams into the second intermission tied 2-2. Kensington also held 3-2 and 4-3 advantages in the third period.
Isaak Pelletier earned the goaltending win, and Caleb Coyle was between the pipes for Kensington. Overall, the Wild outshot the Moose 29-26, including a 14-2 advantage in Period 2.
