SUMMERSIDE – A three-goal second period sent the Kings County Kings to a road victory over the Summerside Capitals on Wednesday night.
After a scoreless first period, the Kings opened up a 3-0 advantage after 40 minutes en route to a 4-1 decision at Credit Union Place.
Four different scorers – Ty Peardon (1-1), Tyson McInnis (1-1), Lucas MacAulay and Jack King – scored for the Kings, who improved to 5-2-3 (won-lost-tied) in the P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League contest. Matthan Runighan, Trey Vancolen, Riley Jamieson and Jacob MacEachern chipped in with single assists.
Brandon Hastings, assisted by Steven Smallwood, netted the lone goal for the Capitals (2-9-2).
Nicolas Jamieson earned the goaltending win, and Devin Newberry took the loss.
