Posts 3-1-1 record in Eliot River Ramblers all girls kickoff soccer tournament

The Summerside Team Two United earned a silver medal in the Eliot River Ramblers all girls kickoff soccer tournament over the weekend. The Eliot River Team Two Ramblers edged the United in penalty kicks to win the championship game. CORNWALL – The Summerside Team Two United returned home with a silver medal from the Eliot River Ramblers all girls kickoff soccer tournament on Sunday.

The United, who competed in the Under-15 First Division, took an undefeated record of 3-0-1 (won-lost-tied) into the gold-medal game against the Eliot River Team Two Ramblers. The teams played to a 1-1 tie through regulation and two five-minute overtimes, before penalty kicks were required to decide the outcome.
In the end, the Ramblers outscored the United 3-2 in penalty kicks to win the gold medal.
Kate Campbell and Bailey Butler scored the Summerside goals.
Jill Lockerby scored the United’s goal in regulation time.

Shutout
The United opened tournament play with a 1-0 win over Central Queens. Brianna Underhill scored the goal, and Heleena Luddington earned the clean sheet.
Emma Shaw scored for the United in a 1-1 tie against Eliot River Team Two in the first of three games for Summerside on Saturday.
The United received goals from Campbell, Jill Lockerby and Anna Smith in a 3-0 victory over Eliot River Team One. Luddington earned her second shutout of the weekend.
Summerside defeated the Winsloe/Charlottetown Royals 2-1 to close out the round robin. Charlotte Schofield and Emma Shaw provided the goals.
