CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - Soccer players Jade Stewart and Theo Ngezahayo are the Holland College Hurricanes female and male athletes of the week for the week ending Sept. 16.

Stewart, a first-year left-wing from Warwick, Bermuda, scored the Hurricanes only goal in Saturday’s 4-1 loss to Mount Saint Vincent and potted another marker in Sunday’s 4-3 win over King’s College.

Stewart has four goals through four games with the Hurricanes, which sit 3-1 and in second place in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) women’s standings.

Stewart is studying in the sport and leisure management program.

Ngezahayo, who’s from Butare, Rawanda, scored three goals in Sunday’s 6-2 victory against King’s College and helped the ‘Canes go to 4-0 and to the top of the ACAA leader board.

The five-foot-six midfielder is in his third year at Holland Colleg and studying in the human resource management program.

The men’s and women’s teams return to the pitch this weekend with matches in New Brunswick, visiting UNBSJ on Saturday (2 p.m., women, 4 p.m., men) and St. Thomas on Sunday (1:15 p.m., women, 3:15 p.m., men).

The next home games are Wednesday, Oct. 10, versus Crandall at the Terry Fox Sports Complex in Cornwall. Game times are 6 p.m. for the women and 8 p.m. for the men.
