United captures Eastern Eagles tournament

The Summerside United under-17 boys won the Eastern Eagles tournament in Montague recently. MONTAGUE – The Summerside United under-17 boys dug deep.

The United displayed resiliency while putting forth gutsy performances en route to capturing the Eastern Eagles soccer tournament recently.
The United played their final two tournament games short-handed as they only had 10 players available. A full compliment of players on the field is 11, including the keeper.
The United posted a perfect 3-0 (won-lost) record, with all three wins coming by one-goal margins.

Winning goal
Jordan Arsenault scored the championship-winning goal as the United edged FDSA in the gold-medal match.
Summerside also defeated FDSA by an identical score in its opening game. Kyle Cameron netted the United’s goal.
In Summerside’s second game, Cameron scored twice while Peyton Lauwerijssen added a single tally in a 3-2 win over Sherwood-Parkdale. The United also played this game with just 10 players.
