Senior AAA championship matchups set

CHARLOTTETOWN – The Charlottetown Rural Raiders have moved into a position to repeat as P.E.I. School Athletic Association Senior AAA Girls Soccer League champions.
The Raiders shut out the Three Oaks Axewomen 5-0 in a semifinal game on Wednesday. The Raiders will face the Colonel Gray Colonels in an all-Charlottetown gold-medal game at UPEI on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The Colonels edged the Westisle Wolverines 2-1 in the other semifinal.
Emily Cormier, Madi Fisher, Maddy Neale and Bethany MacDougall scored for the Raiders, who led 2-0 at halftime. Rural’s other scorer is unavailable.
Hailey Terstege recorded the shutout.
At Westisle Composite High School, Phoebe Mitchell and Anna Victor scored for Gray, which took a 1-0 advantage into halftime.
Lyndsay Callaghan answered for Westisle.
Winning keeper was Kaitlyn Grayson.

Gray vs. Bluefield
The senior AAA boys’ championship game at UPEI on Saturday at 3 p.m. will feature the Colonel Gray Colonels taking on the Bluefield Bobcats.
In Wednesday’s semifinals, the Colonels blanked Charlottetown Rural, and Bluefield defeated Westisle. The final scores of both games were 3-0.
Juma Farag (2) and Abou Abuseena scored for Gray.
Will Harrison and Jared Loveless shared the shutout, and the Colonels led 1-0 at halftime.
Isaac Walters recorded the shutout, and James Richardson scored a hat trick to account for Bluefield’s scoring.
The Bobcats took a 2-0 advantage into the half.
