Provincial under-20 girls’ soccer title on line Monday

SUMMERSIDE – The Summerside United under-20 girls have an opportunity to cap an undefeated season on Monday.

The United will host Stratford in the Subway provincial league championship game at Eric Johnston Field. The start time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Stratford finished third in the five-team league at 4-4-0. Stratford scored 14 goals and allowed 11 in its eight regular-season contests.
Both teams won their respective semifinals games earlier this week, with Summerside blanking Kensington 6-0 and Stratford shutting out RC United 4-0.
Taylor Gillis scored two goals to lead the United against Kensington. Nikki Arsenault, Georgie McKenna, Jillian Brown and Taran Price also found the back of the net for Summerside, which jumped out to a 5-0 lead at the half.
