CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - The P.E.I. Mudmen continue to roll as the division one and divisions two clubs earned victories in Rugby Nova Scotia senior men’s action Saturday in Charlottetown and Truro, N.S., respectively.

P.E.I. (5-0 in division one) upped its record to 1-1 in Maritime Elite League play by utilizing a dominant scrum with quick ball movement and hard running for a lobsided 76-3 thumping over the Saint John Trojans in the rain at Co-op Field.

Meanwhile in Truro, the division two squad went to 4-0 in the standings after a 46-12 win over the Saints.

Truro had a 12-10 lead following a rainy back-and-forth first half, but in the second frame the Mudmen used its wind advantage, strategic kicking from Mark Lloyd and its team speed and rolled off 36 unanswered points to tally the victory.

Next up, the second division squad battles Caledonia (2-3-1) on Saturday. Kickoff is 2 p.m. at Co-op Field. That’s followed by the Mudmen Old Boys hosting Baddeck at 3:30 p.m.

The first division side returns to the pitch against Enfield (3-1) Saturday, Sept. 1, in Enfield, N.S. Game time is 1 p.m.
