LONDON, ONT. – The London Lightning has its first victory in the National Basketball League of Canada final.

The host Lightning defeated the Halifax Hurricanes 110-100 Thursday and now trails the best-of-seven series 2-1.

Garrett Williamson had a game-high 27 points to pace the Lightning while Kirk Williams Jr. and Julian Boyd chipped in 18 and 17 points, respectively. Boyd added 15 rebounds while Williamson had 10 assists.

Antoine Mason had 22 points for Halifax while Tyrone Watson and Billy White each had 17. Rhamel Brown scored 16 points, hauled in 12 boards, blocked seven shots and had a steal.

London held 27-24, 57-51 and 81-78 quarter leads.

Game 4 is Saturday at 8 p.m. Atlantic with Game 5 going Monday. Both games are in London, Ont.
