SYDNEY, N.S. – The Island Storm dropped its third straight game to fall into fourth place in the Atlantic Division.

The host Cape Breton Highlanders used a big second quarter to defeat the Storm 117-110 Friday in National Basketball League of Canada play in Sydney, N.S.

The Storm led 30-25 after the first quarter but went to the half trailing 59-50 and to the fourth down 90-85.

Bruce Massey Jr. had 31 points and 15 rebounds to lead Cape Breton.

Franklin Session had 25 points and 17 rebounds in 42 minutes for a Storm squad that played six guys more than 14 minutes.

The Storm (19-20) is behind the Saint John Riptide (19-19), which has won back-to-back games, heading into the final weekend of the regular season.

The Riptide plays Moncton tonight and Cape Breton on Sunday while the Storm travels to London, Ont., to play the league-league Lightning Sunday at 3 p.m. Atlantic.
